About the hosts

Opposite sides
of the world.
Plenty of
issues.

Danny and TJ bring different lives, different perspectives and a shared appetite for understanding why human beings do the strange, clever and occasionally ridiculous things they do.

The short version

We’re Danny and TJ. We both know what it’s like to get stuck in your own head. We talk about what we’ve been through, what we’re learning and the things we still find difficult. We don’t always agree, and there’s usually a laugh somewhere along the way.

Why this show exists

There’s a lot we
don’t say out loud.

Anxiety, relationships, getting sober, trying to change. These things kept coming up when we talked. Sometimes we’d recognise ourselves in what the other was saying. Sometimes we’d see it completely differently. We wanted to let other people into those conversations.

We all have issues. What do we choose next?

We hope you’ll hear something that makes you think, “I do that too.” Maybe it helps you put something into words, or gives you something to try. And hopefully you’ll enjoy spending a bit of time with us.

Danny

A father, life coach, counsellor-in-training and, more recently, amateur actor. Someone still discovering how much more there is to life when you stop waiting to feel completely ready.

Danny grew up in Coventry and now lives in the West Midlands. His own experiences of recovery and anxiety are part of what draws him to these conversations. He knows the gap between understanding a pattern and finding yourself caught in it again.

These days, change means studying counselling, stepping onto a stage, asking difficult questions and making room for the parts of himself he used to hold back. That experience sits behind his interest in what happens next: how reflection becomes something you actually live.

He brings curiosity, warmth, humour and a willingness to look beneath the first answer. The podcast is a place to explore that with TJ; coaching is where he works individually with people on their own next steps.

TJ

Raised in Northern Ireland and now living in Atlanta, TJ is a wife and mother whose early trauma became deeply entangled with health anxiety. Her background includes time in hospital and pharmacy environments, and she brings an almost relentless thirst for knowledge, growth and understanding.

She brings warmth, challenge and the courage to say the thoughts people often hide because they sound too frightening, embarrassing or simply too human.

Different lives. Shared curiosity. The fuller picture comes through the conversations.

What matters to us

The rules of the room.

These are editorial values, not claims of perfection. The audience should be able to notice when the show lives up to them—and when it doesn’t.

01

Honesty over image

We would rather admit uncertainty or contradiction than perform certainty for authority.

02

Humour without cruelty

We can laugh at the absurdity of our minds without laughing down at people who are suffering.

03

Challenge with care

Comfort alone can become stagnation; challenge without care becomes humiliation. We want neither extreme.
